Yes, you heard it right. But please also note the 'may' in the title! The act of writing is good for the brains, or so new research appears to show. It seems like scribbling on paper on what we want to learn helps to retain information in the mind. Nowadays we increasingly type and click rather than writing by hand. Recent research results published in periodicals state that they have got clear evidence of the benefits of writing when it comes to memory.  In one experiment carried out by French neurophysiologist at the University of Marseille, France the results came out clear. The experiment was that 20 volunteers were given Indian alphabets to learn, half by writing and half by typing. They were given three weeks time.
