What are we protesting against?

A fashion called candle march is the new trend in town. Its not new for sure but nowadays we are having too much of them beacause we have many reasons very frequently without at the end of the day having any fruitful result. We march because we love to walk and added flavour to it is a candle in hand. Wow!! Who can afford to miss it?

I AM WITH CANDLE MARCH...... because we need to roar and make the idiots out there know that we are not sleeping , that if needed we can also roar and protest for our rights, protest against what is wrong. But, the end result? Nothing, no change.

Leave aside the rapists and murderers against whom we are protesting, after this candle march is over then the next day if we find a girl lying unclad on a street shouting for help or a man crying with pain because someone has shot him.... i am sure most of the people will try to hurriedly pass that scene and have a jolly ride to wherever he/she is going without even bothering to help.

We often hear things like 'Iss ladki ko bachake apne pair pe kulhadi maarna kaun chahega?'..... so well educated and well informed and protestant are our society. Actually the so called high class are the biggest cowards most of the times, because nothing matters to them other than status. The mass are who help when in need.

I do not want to say anything about the rapists and murderers because i know they cannot survive long if we be true citizens of this Nation.

I am never against protest of any kind because that is what brings a 'change' but where is the 'change'? A few months back there was rape in Kolkata , Durgapur and now Delhi. What is going on? This is just a few recent examples from newspapers but almost everyday some women are raped and left to die, the society also boycotts her, so protestant is our society.

And murders, that is something like a daily soap, everyday you have a new episode to look out for, every day the newspaper has the story of murder somewhere in the country.

So protest but not just you love to walk with a candle in hand, protest because you want your Nation to be a better place, because you love your Nation.

    1. Showing respect is good but in many cases it is like a picnic and loads of facebook updates

  2. Consequent rape cases remind me... female sex is one which is neither safe within the womb nor outside... males think us mere harlots, a dish fit to comfort their beds...ONLY!!!! I wish ppl cud think a bit more deep..rather than just queing up fr rallies nd candle march... something more worthwhile like getting thngs posted nd published to stir human beings up... to rouse feelings which really do matter, nt through fashion parades called Rallies but through silent work like articles. keep up Saptarshi Roy. Hats off!!!!
