Two adult films that would make you sit back and think - B.A.Pass and Proloy

Both the films had created a lot of buzz much before they got released in theaters because of their eye catching trailers and a very different appeal.
However after they released they created even more buzz because of their gripping story lines.

Firstly coming to the 2nd August release B.A.Pass directed by Ajay Bahl, made on a very humble budget. This film has earned much much more than its budget and is still running in theaters in its third week. The film is basically an erotic drama but not the types made just to knock the lower part of the body, this film has a heart that will have a effect on the upper body too. It is based on the story 'Railway Aunty' by Mohan Sikka published in 2009. The story is that of male prostitution and the film has newcomer Shadab Kamal and Shilpa Shukla in lead roles. The way Sarika 'Aunty' (Shilpa) seduces Mukesh (Kamal) is very sexy and the plot as it is very dark adds up to the wonderful experience. She teaches him to have sex and how to give pleasure to women and then gets him into business. Earns money through him and also gives him part of it. Being in need of money, the guy refuses at first but then fearing the hard life he leads at his aunt's house, he goes on working. Then there is some tragedy with family and his sisters. The lady's husband sees them and then there are more tradegy. His money that he had given her to keep gets stuck and the man who he trusted the most steals the money. The guy is lost, and gets mislead. The film has a tragic ending and also stars Rajesh Sharma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Deepti Naval in different roles. Most of the scenes are wonderfully shot and is sure to move the audience.

Next coming to the 9th August Bangla release, 'Proloy' directed by Raj Chakraborty. The film has Parambrata Chatterjee and Paran Bandopadhyay in lead roles with Saswata Chatterjee and Mimi Chakroborty giving a good support. Rudranil Ghosh plays the main antagonist. The first half of the film is based on the real-life superhero named Barun Biswas who has raised his voice against all types of wrongs and especially wrongs against women but was sadly and very obviously killed by the hooligans who look after us and our country. The film is set in the village of Dukhiya where rape has become a type of celebration for the political hooligans out there. Barun Biswas (Parambrata) with a group of young people protests against these. People started revolting seeing him. But one day he is murdered because he had successfully put the idiots behind the bars. there is a slight touch of romance between Barun and Durga (Mimi). In the second half, Binod Bihari Dutta (Paran), a old teacher and Barun's colleague comes to Dukhiya to find out why Barun got killed. And as time passes Binod Dutta takes revenge and a police officer named Animesh Dutta (Saswata) helps him achieve his goal. This is the first original film of Raj Chakraborty and it shows that this director has potential. Although the film is at times little over the top or unnecessarily commercialised with item song and dances but basically it is a nice film that makes you sit back and think about what is happening in this society of ours.
