The government has failed miserably but the people are fighting back like never before!

This country currently has a government at the centre that came to power with a huge majority, a landslide victory and that too for the second time in a row. Great! So, the people of the country must have felt a great sense of support from them and must have thought that they would develop the country to make itself sufficient in every way and take it to newer heights with every passing year. Right? Little did we know that it is the Rs. 3000 crore statue which would reach great heights to become the tallest statue in the world. We are also adding another humongous temple to our long list of temples and mosques and the government is personally looking into its construction. The grand central vista is being built which will have a palatial accommodation for the prime minister besides everything else.

So, what does all these say about this country? The country must be a developed country with all the basic needs looked into and the education, health, food, shelter infrastructure almost in place. However in this case the country is India. The word developing also seems like a hoax where a country cannot give basic healthcare and food to its entire population or at least most of its citizens. Knowing that India is a huge country and there are times where crisis worsens because of the population. However, the crisis is not the problem, the problem is a government that is least bothered, a government that did everything to aggravate the issue and now is doing the least to control everything. What this country needed was a government that’s empathetic, knowledgable, less right-wing and more towards the centre, well versed about the country and with far less ego than what they have now.

So, now what? The country is suffering because of an incompetent government? Yes, it is! But, what has come out of this suffering? Groups like Red Volunteers and people like Sonu Sood, several individuals cooking and distributing food, medicine and oxygen across the country, several NGOs trying to give some relief, doctors, journalists and policemen working relentlessly to keep the country in motion, and not to mention the staffs at the elections. Few of them have the choice to stay at home and not do anything, few have no choice but to work but all of them are working. Does the government have the choice to sit back and watch the whole country turn into a crematorium?

The times are bad and physical distancing has literally turned into social distancing but in all of this, there are so many people who are trying in their ways to do something. A country goes through a revolution after a crisis and maybe this a revolution in the making where people are standing by each other and facing a situation like never before. Maybe, this crisis will give birth to a country way stronger, way more compassionate and way more aware and enlightened. Maybe, this crisis will make us realise that how wrong it is to vote based on religion, caste and nationalism. The times are difficult and from Kumbh Mela to election rallies, none really helped make it any better, only made it way worse. Of course, we will all come out of this situation because the people are standing up for each other, but when we recover we have to make sure that the people who deliberately pushed us into the crisis and still goes around blabbering about cow piss and shit pays and pays it well. Democracy is democracy for a reason and I am sure the country knows how to use it well.
