Its a week, that a political change took place in West Bengal! From today we will have our new chief minister and her cabinet too! We all (most of us) are hoping for a brighter and better tomorrow! We will see that later and hope someday i will write about the goods and bads about this ministry! But for now i will like to highlight on things that are happening against what we were told by the oppositions before the elections i.e. 'badla nay badol chai'  or 'we don't want revenge, we want change'! Within a week, several CPI(M) people have been beaten up and many others are death struck with fright! So many families cannot return to their houses! This was not what we were told! How should we understand this woman and her views of the world and beyond? by any measure, Mother Teresa has fascinated the world by being a complete and utter contrarian. No modern day view of the church and its mission for her; rather, a strong, simplistic approach to charity and to religious works. Her heroism is based on the belief of the dignity of the individual, no matter how poor, how sick or how low on the social pecking order he or she maybe. While not everyone can and will agree with the particulars of her activities and programmes, she remains far and away the most admired individual of the late 20th century. Her life, teachings and good works represent a call to all of us to come to the aid of those neglected by the world or simply ignored or forgotten. She is and will remain a hero with unparalleled personal and spiritual appeal.

At the end of this season of election, many people caught our sight and got lots of publicity for their good or bad deeds! But, two personalities were always in the limelight, mostly for their good aura! However, both belong to opposite parties - the ruling CPI(M) and the opponent TMC! Recently, we bid adieu with heavy hearts to our living God Sathya Sai Baba! It is indeed a great loss to the spiritual world and to all his followers! But he has left his ideals behind him for us to follow! And the best thing is that his followers there are really setting a great example after his death! Thousands of visitors were coming everyday to have a last look at the dead body of Baba before he is buried at the Hall today! Everybody who went their to have a last look, witnessed great cooperation from the white dressed with blue scarves NGOs, created by Baba himself to look after his visitors! As we all know Baba never discriminated between his VIP visitors and commoners! In this time of grief many of his followers were sitting there whole day, beside Baba's glass coffin and many had come from faraway places, so they were hungry and tired! Every other political party wants us to believe that they are 'different'. The ruling party wants us to believe that after ruling for 35 years they will do even better in the coming years and the oppositions are always ready with one word - 'change'. They want us to believe that if they come to power they would 'rock!' As if Kolkata will turn into London and Darjeeling into Switzerland! RED or GREEN, it seems to be the same thing! Recently i read some incidents in newspapers which i would like to share to highlight my topic! A lady was taking her ailing old neighbour to the hospital, she was not getting any rickshaw, reason - a TMC meeting would be held there within an hour and so they had been asked to stay there to make the place more crowded! Recently on a visit to a nearby village i was lucky enough to catch this beautiful and energetic folk dance of our countryside! In bengali its called the ' ghora nach' i.e 'horse dance' because they dress like horses and dance around in their vibrant costumes! My India has every colour of life!
